Less often. Changing it more is more wasteful and accumulates faster. However, it’s even greener to use natural litter. Look for pine cat litter; it’s usually available at most supermarkets. It lasts longer than cement-based cat litter, degrades and can easily be composted. It’s usually cheaper, too! I switched my cat to it a few months ago — there was a slight adjustment period where conventional litter had to be mixed in, but overall it’s completely worth it.
