Environmentally speaking there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. A pet, like any plant, animal or other organic organism, is completely biodegrable and in fact the mechanisms that break down the corpse will provide nutrients to the soil. That is of course assume that the pet is burried by itself with out a bag or a box around it. On the other hand, there are public health concerns that might arise as well as local legal regulations to look into.
