If water is in a container that you have drank out of recently without cleaning, bacteria in your saliva could make the water unsafe to drink in the future. Any container that has the potential to deteriorate would be problematic as well, or containers that are not fully sealed. If you keep your water in plastic bottles or jugs, make sure that they are BPA free. Bisphenol A is a chemical found in many plastics that can cause a lot of health ailments. If you water is in a safe, sturdy, sealed container, there shouldn’t be much of an issue. After all, water is made of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.
