Is it cheaper to run a ferry than it is to build a bridge?

Yes, ferries are cheaper than bridges. However, both forms of transportation have negative impacts on the environment. The construction of bridges is detrimental to the environment immediately around them, particularly the aquatic wildlife. Ferries, too, are not without consequence. Ferries produce emissions and, as a result, are also detrimental to the environment.
