Is it actually worse for my health to breathe cold air when I ride my bike in the winter (like 30 degrees outside)? Or is it still better because of the exercise and not releasing green house gases?

It may be a bit uncomfortable breathing the cold air in the winter, but the air temperatures can vary greatly and you can still inhale. The colder it is the easier it is for you to catch a cold or get sick in some way as it suppresses your immune system’s efficiency. It is better to ride your bike because of the exercise and minimal greenhouse gas emissions. It’s up to you though, willing to probably get sick and deal with the cold and bike to work? or just drive.
