Is ink bad for the environment?

Traditional ink is bad for the environment if not disposed of properly.  It often contains fungicides, surfactants, resins, biocides, and humectants.  For obvious reasons, this can reak havoc on ecosystems.  There are non-toxic options that won’t harm the environment, and now even biodegradable pens!
