Apparently, yes — somewhat, at least. And incense smoke can be harmful to our health if the concentration levels are too high or there is repeated over-exposure… I don’t know of too many people who like to sit there directly above their incense holder and breathe the stuff right in, but hey – it’s good to be informed and here is what the scientists are now saying: “Like any cigarette smoke and wood smoke, incense smoke contains particulate matter, gas products (carbon monoxide, cardiodioxide, and sulfur dioxide) and other organic compounds (benzene, toluene, xylenes, aldehydes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) shown to harm human health.”
Just keep it in moderation and I think you’ll probably be OK! Consider how much worse starting up a V-8 car or truck is… when you think about it — the incense can only produce less CO2 than it weighs… so like .001 pounds of it maybe — if you drive a mile you are pouring about a pound of CO2 into the environment — WHAT”S WORSE?
