Considering a toilet uses about 4 gallons of water per flush, you could save a lot by not flushing so much.  By just “letting it mellow” one flush per day, you could save about 1,300 gallons of water a year.  Even if you risk being embarrassed by doing so, a little more yellow could go a long way in making a greener earth.
