ONE COMPONENT OF THE ATMOSPHERE THAT IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT TO LIFE ON EARTH IS THE OZONE LAYER. OZONE IS A GAS CONSISTED OF THREE OXYGEN ATOMS. IT HAS A VARIETY OF POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE FUNCTIONS, ONE OF WHICH IS ITS ABILITY TO SHIELD THE SUN’S ULTRAVIOLET (UV) RAYS FROM US. WITHOUT THIS LAYER, WE WOULD LITERALLY BE FRIED BECAUSE UV RAYS ARE VERY STRONG.
