Eventually, if we don’t become more sustainable, we won’t not survive at all. But on a short term basis, sustainability still has positive health effects. For instance, fewer contaminents in the air will make it easier to breathe for people with respiratory trouble. Using and wearing organic materials eliminates contact with many carcinogens, reducing your risk of cancer. Eating fruit instead of a bag of chips reduces packaging waste AND gives you more vitamins. There are numerous more examples, but in short, environmental sustainabilty and a healthy personal lifestyle go hand in hand.
