If we banned hair spray would we have a lot less GHG’s?

    Actually, no.  In the 1970s, the US began phasing out all harmful gases (CFCs) from aerosol cans like hairspray.  In the 80s, many countries followed suit, and in 1996, the Montreal Protocol was outlined, calling for a phasing out of all use of harmful gases in aerosol cans throughout the world by 2010.

    It’s also important to note that although CFCs are technically greenhouse gases, they do not contribute much to the “greenhouse effect” and global warming.  Instead, they cause ozone depletion, which, though related, is a different problem.
