If the United States showed more of a focused effort on climate change do you think more countries would join in?

It certainly wouldn’t hurt. It appears that the trend is that the countries with the highest population concentrations and most emissions are the ones that express the most concern for the issues surrounding climate change. Mexico, Brazil, China, and India are among those that agree collectively that climate change is a huge issue. This make sense, because considering the living conditions and economies of these highly impoverished developing countries, they are the most vulnerable to even the smallest shifts in climate change and other environmental factors. The U.S. (with the world’s second highest emissions) and the U.K. (considerably high emissions per capita) are alarmingly unconcerned about climate change, and of course their involvement and heightened awareness could definitely benefit the global cause.
