If there were no longer bees would humans be able to self pollinate all of their own plants?

It is possible for humans to pollinate plants without the aid of bees but it would be a difficult and costly task.  Imagine people having to take a little brush and spread pollen onto one flower at a time.  The labor costs for such an undertaking would be enormous and produce prices would skyrocket.  Technology could aid in the pollination process but R&D is expensive. An example of such technology, is a genetically manipulated variety of almond tree that has the ability to self pollinate with the aid of wind.  Natural biodiversity would suffer horribly of bees vanished.  Unlike genetically modified farms, bees are necessary for ecosystems to flourish.
