If solar panels catch on fire does the smoke have bad chemicals in it?

    Solar panels are usually produced from crystalline silicon. This material does not burn easily, but when metallic silicion burns and converts into an oxide, it takes the form of a a white powder known as silica. Silicia is most akin to a pure sand.
