If a shade plant is in the shade, but it is a vine, will it still grow into the sun and die?

A plant has a preferred habitat and conditions where it can grow the best. All plants need some sunlight and many shade plants can tolerate quite a bit of sun. If the plant does better in the shade, it will tend to grow in that area. If part of a vine grows into a sunny area, this portion will likely not grow as fast or will “turn around” and head back towards the shade. The plant will not expose itself to conditions that are not right if it can be prevented and will likely not grow into the sun.
