If I grow my vegetables at home are they organic?

If your vegetables are free from synthetic chemicals like pesticides and herbicides, you are on the right track to growing organic food. To be organically certified, crops must follow a rigorous standard (including keeping the soil free from chemicals for a certain number of years). In your garden at home, if you know that the soil is free from chemicals, then what you are growing can be considered organic.

To add to the answer above, check to make sure if the seeds or small plants that begin your garden are free from pesticides or any other chemicals. Try to use your own compost created from organic foods also when gardening.
