Vampire Power makes up about 5% of energy usage in the US. Unplugging TVs, game consoles, dvd players and stero systems are a good way to stop vampire power. The other source of vampire power are those AC to DC adapters (little black boxes on the plugs aka wall warts) those draw power even if the device isn’t on or in the case of a cell phone charger even when the phone is fully charged or even not connected to the charger. 5% may not seem like a lot but 5% savings on your energy bill would be nice and any reduction in energy usage is a good thing.
