You can still use the soil, but it will not be entirely decomposed, so it might not be as effective as soil that has been left alone for a while. The amount of time it takes for your compost to decompose depends on a variety of factors, such as the size of the compost pile, the types of materials in the compost pile, the surface area of what you put in the compost pile, and the number of times the pile is turned. If you turn your compost pile every 4 or 5 weeks, your compost could be ready in three months, depending on the time of the year.
