Not all recyclable materials are 100% recyclable (I know copper is, and subsequentally a very large % of all copper ever mined is still in use), so therefore, in order to sustain our current volume of production we would still need to use “virgin” materials to make up for whatever percantage was lost in the recycling process.
In addition, with global economies expanding daily, the current volume of production is constantly increasing, so we will always need to use new materials in order to sustain our “current” volume of production.
