No, incinerating trash is the dirtiest method of “getting rid” of it, aside from dumping into oceans and other waterways. Incineration causes one of the most toxic pollutants to be emitted, dioxin. Dioxin is a known carcinogen and is emitted from the burning of plastics and other materials containing chlorine.
Remember, there is no such place as “away” whether garbage is buried in a landfill or toxic byproducts of its incineration are put into the atmosphere, we still have to deal with its long term effects on the health of the planet and of ourselves.
