If all the polls show Americans are in support of a climate bill why is it so difficult to get it passed?

It is often very hard to get politicians to agree on one thing. Many bills include special provisions for one state or another, and getting the majority of congress to agree on specific language is difficult.  Additionally, some senators realize that a climate bill may be harmful to their state’s economy if they have a lot of coal mining or oil drilling. Lobbying can also skew the voting of members of congress.  Despite what the people support, there are many different things that affect how bills get voted for in congress.
