Antarctica has the thickest ice in the world with its thickest ice being nearly 3 miles deep. Th Antarctic Ice Sheet, as it is know, is the largest producer of ice bergs in the world and contains over 5 million cubic miles of ice. The weight of the ice sheet is so much that it pushes the land below sea level at many points. Without the ice, the land in Antarctica would actually raise about 1,500 feet above sea level.
