I understand that plastic goes through various phases of recycling. If a plastic container is picked up on the West Coast of British Columbia, for example, where would those various phases take place until there was a new end product?

A lot of times it ends up being shipped overseas to factories where it’s remade into different items. There’s not really any rhyme or reason, rather it’s dictated by supply and demand. Whoever needs it and can pay gets it. Your plastic bottle may end up in Scotland, the US, China, anywhere. Check the link for more details.
