I love to go swimming in the ocean and would really like to take pictures are there any good waterproof digital cameras that won’t break the bank?

A cheaper option than buying a new camera is to buy a waterproof camera case cover. If you already own a digital camera, then you can go to your camera company’s website and search for a waterproof case to fit your model. If not, there are some good and relatively inexpensive models available. However, be warned, the vast majority of good waterproof digital cameras will cost you at least one hundred dollars. Here are some good models, along with their prices on Amazon:

    • Olympus Stylus 1050 SW, $139.00
    • Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1, $169.99 (used), $300 (new)
    • Sealife DC500, $215.00
    • Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP, $109.99

When looking for a waterproof camera, make sure to look at how many meters the camera can shoot, as well as its zoom, and lighting options.

You can actually buy waterproof disposable cameras (or rather “single-use,” as the cases are often recycled into new cameras) for less than $20. One from Kodak is available for $11.99, and is waterproof for depths up to fifty feet. The shell is made of rubber and provides shock-proof protection and even has a sunscreen- and scratch-resistant lens. Check it out at the link below.
