I know that turning down the brightness on the screen for your computer or other device will save energy, but is that better or worse for your eyes?

I mean, is it better for your eyes to stare at a bright screen or a darker one?

It all depends on the brightness of the room, what your eyes can handle, etc. The best way to tell is to try turning it down to the point where you don’t have to strain to read anything. Then, if your eyes hurt or you get a headache from eye strain, you know it’s too low and you will need to turn it up a bit.
