Bisphenol A, or BPA, is a chemical that is stirring up a lot of controversial discussions regarding its effects. This chemical is commonly used to make many hard plastic toys and bottles, which is why children are at the top of the list on the discussion board. BPA is also use to make food containers as well.
BPA leaches out into food products from container linings and certain kinds of plastics. It’s particularly a problem for young children, as BPA is found in the packaging of baby formula.
Many plastic food containers can effect a child as a teratogen in-utero if ingested by mom when pregnant, water bottles, food can liners esp soup cans etc
Also directly ingested by the child: baby bottles, water bottles, toys (babies explore their world by putting things in their mouths.
