I havea tree, 12/15, high with white flowers , look like sparse lilacs. Blooming now July/august,what is it? B

    Without seeing the tree in person or knowing what area you live in, I cannot be positive, but horse chestnut trees have blooms that remind me of lilacs.  Their blooms are very similar and grow in a cone shape.

    There are tree lilacs as well and are very fragrant.  You can use this to figure out of it is a tree lilac or something else.  They may look similar to an apple tree.  Lilac bushes may bloom beginnning in May and the tree lilac blooms several weeks after so it is possible that your tree is this.
