I have a tree in our yard with little green berries this is late in the year for any harvesting berries to produce . this is the first time we have seen berries on it before. the tree is about 25 foot tall and berries are a light green with a brown nut in

    Do you have any additional information about the tree, like the species? Some trees produce berries at different times of the year. The fact that this is the first time it has produced berries may simply mean that it was never previously pollinated. I would suggest taking a leaf and a berry to a local nursery to have them help you identify it, or you can use an online guide, like any of the following three:

    Ohio Public Library Information Network

    Arbor Day Foundation (they actually sell small field guides for identification)

    Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources and Environment
