I have a tall single stem plant with a purple ball shaped flower

flower is made of many individual petals that are tubular. Bees, wasps etc love this plant. Can anyone please identify

    It sounds like a type of Knapweed.  It could also be a Red Clover.  I would check this website to verify its exact species.

    It could be Indian thistle (or Echinops),

    or it could be an allium (of which there are many, many species),

    or it could be a purple chrysanthemum (also called ‘football mum’)
