i have many sick trees in my yard and cant identify the type of tree or what is killing them

i think my trees and shrubs have some sort of branch rot or fungus. Many large trees of different types with multiple symptoms like some sort of bumpy hard growth all over the trunks and branches. Some black and some green and some white fuzzy mold or spores the ones on the pine ooze sticky sap-like stuff. There was this soft white mushroom-like stuff at the base of another and some the trunks are shredding or splitting open.

This is something to take to your local nursery, where they will be familiar with the kinds of problems that affect your area, and specifically, anything that’s unusually wrong.

You can help the nursery out by taking several pictures of the whole trees and shrugs, and a few of the rot/fungus problems in detail, and by clipping off samples of the problem (throw them in a ziplock bag maybe). If any of them are flowering, absolutely get the flower, because that’s one of the easiest ways to identify plants.

If you have the money, and you are in a hurry, and want to limit damage as much as possible — then contact some local company that specializes in solving garden problems.

Also, have you thought of contacting your neighbors? Maybe they’ve already been though a process of diagnosis and cure.
