I have a house in the woods and every now and then we see a bat in our house, how do we get it out?

Usher the bat into a space where you can seal it off from the rest of the house by closing the doors to adjacent rooms and opening all of the windows in the room in which it resides. It will usually leave all by itself within a few hours. If, however, the bat sticks around, you can capture the bat and release it outside. If this becomes necessary, place a small container such as a coffee can or shoebox over the bat, then slide a rigid piece of cardboard underneath to trap it in the container and release it outside.
