I have heard its better to let the mosquito finish biting you than to slap it, is there any truth to this?

There is no scientific reason to allow a mosquito to bite you. Once it has started, there will be a bump and usually itching. If you slap it soon thereafter, the mark left behind may be small. However, it can grow exponentially if you allow the mosquito to continue. As soon as you are bitten, the mosquito has already injected its saliva and therefore the best thing you can do is swat it.
