If you’re really only interested in just getting rid of them, and not selling or consigning them, there are plenty of charities that would be more than willing to take them. I know the Salvation Army and the Big Brothers & Sisters do pick-ups, so you wouldn’t need to take them anywhere. There are also nationwide Planet Aid bins, you can find one near you by using this link: http://planetaid.org/find-a-bin/ This environmentally-friendly company has a lot of stores in the east, one in LA, and all of their profits go to humanitarian efforts in Asia, Africa and Latin America. That way you can not only recycle the shoes, but recycle the global efforts behind them!
