Emission cuts would lead to less harmful deposits into the ocean. Harmful pollutants emitted into the air can fall out of the air through precipitation, which can reach the ocean. Emission cuts may also reduce waste entering rivers, which would lead to less waste entering the ocean.
In addition, emissions cuts should lead to average temperatures remaining constant (not rising like they are). This means the ice caps should stop melting and the oceans water level will not continue to rise. Why this would be beneficial is hard to say, although there are probably many unforeseen consequences of having ocean levels too high.
