The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service has invested 139,000 dollars in restoring the longleaf pine forest of Hampton Plantation. After a careful examination of the grounds to avoiding interfering with the historic cemetary, the restoration will involve prescribed fires and removing hardwood trees.
