How will the EPA regulation of greenhouse gases hurt the economy?

The United States still generates about 69% of its electricity from fossil fuel combustion (mainly coal), which makes up a large portion of some states’ economies.  Fossil fuel combustion is the leading contributor to greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, so the EPA regulation will effectively curb all fossil fuel combustion, and without a viable economic alternative, the states that rely heavily on it will suffer job losses and decrease in income.
