How wide can a snake open its mouth?

Snakes have the ability to unhinge their jaws in order to swallow prey. Unlike humans, snakes don’t have their jaws fused together by bone, but rather by ligaments and tendons. This allows snakes to open their mouths as wide as 150 degrees (which is a lot!). There are a lot of pictures online of snakes devouring something much bigger than themselves, but they’re pretty gnarly to look at.
