Whole Foods is the first retailer to be offsetting it’s energy by 100%, using wind energy credits. They are also using solar power, implemented a company wide recycling program, endorse organic products, encourage team members to carpool or use public transportation, use paperless ordering systems, use biodegradable supplies for samples, composts, banned plastic bags, reduces use of power monitors, offer a 5 cent refund per reusable bag, provided reusable and biodegradable plates in their dining rooms, saves and donates packing peanuts to local shipping stores, holds company electronic recycling drives, reduced amount of packaging, and use green building techniques.
