How were we able to shrink the US car fleet in 2009?

    The 2% decrease in cars on the road last year, or about 4 million cars, is probably largely due to the recession. People are waiting to buy a new car or simply going without when, in other years, they may have bought one. Also, many younger people are simply not interested in owning a car. This may be due in part to environmental consciousness. Having fewer cars is DEFinitely a good thing for our environment.
