how was global warming discovered

Global warming itself is not a new phenomenom. During the history of the world, the climate has changed several times, and these changes have been noted by scientists throughout history. However, the greenhouse effect, which is commonly believed as the current cause of global warning, was theorized by mathematician Joseph Fourier in the early 1800’s.

    I hope this helped!

Joseph Fourier discovered the concept of the greenhouse effect in 1824. The greenhouse effect is the process by which absorption and emission of infrared radiation by gases in the atmosphere warm a planet’s lower atmosphere and surface. As more fossil fuels are being burned, the more carbon dioxide is burned in the atmosphere and the more is retained in the atmosphere as concentrations of greenhouse gases increase which is causing the rise in global climate. More heat is trapped in the planet and cannot escape thus causing an increase in our global climate temperature.
