How is the United States government going to make a difference for the environment in the next few years?

Obama is calling for a new renewable energy / climate change bill from congress this year, before he freezes governemnt spending in 2011. If the U.S. passes a bill that shows real commitment to stopping global warming, then other countries are likely to follow suit (The U.S. is a global trendsetter, other countries tend to follow what the U.S. does).

I also believe that we will continue to see an increase in green industries and green jobs.  There will be more inventions and products made in America that counter climate change. As well, President Obama will continue to promote a greener lifestyle, as he has done by urging drivers to get rid of their old gas guzzling cars, and encouraging home owners to seal their windows and save energy.
