The ozone layer is considered to be between 10 and 50 kilometers in altitude. The ozone exists in every layer of the atmosphere, with near zero concentrations in the upper exosphere, and the lower troposphere (ground level). If were were able to translate all the ozone to a single layer of pure ozone gas, it will vary from ~3 to 1+ mm thick, depending on time of year and location.
