How tall do termite mounds get?

As tall as 20 feet, though most termite mounds are only a few feet tall. There are different structural varieties — mushroom, conical, dome-shaped, to name a few — but most of the colony is underground. No other animal can build structures so big relative to their own size; the ratio between a termite and a 20-foot-tall mound is like that between a human and a Himalayan mountain.
