The highest peak in the Rocky Mountains chain is Mt Denali (also known as Mt McKinley) in Alaska. Elevation at the top of this peak is 20,320 feet. Mt Denali is not only the highest mountain in the Rockies, but the highest in North America as well. It has frequently been used as practice for climbers training to attempt a climb up Mt Everest.
Mt. Elbert in Colorado is the highest peak of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 14,433 feet. The height of the Rockies is about the same as that of the Alps.
