Wind turbines vary in height depending on the local conditions. According to a Wind Works article on tower trends, most wind turbines reach somewhere around 40 to 60 meters. That’s about 130 to 195 feet tall. Technology might be changing this, because wind blows faster higher in the sky.
It depends on where they are located, but most reach between 150 and 200 feet. Those located in the mountains or higher regions need to be taller to catch the wind while those located off shore don’t need to be more than 100 feet tall since the strongest winds skim along the surface of the water.
