Most llamas are between 5.5 feet (1.6 meters) and 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall by the time they are finished growing. This is measuring the distance from head to ground standing. At shoulder height they measure on average between 4 feet (1.2 meters) and 4 feet 5 inches tall. (1.35 meters)
Adult llamas are between 5 and 6 feet tall and will be between 250-400lbs. Llamas bear 65% of this weight on their front legs.
A few years ago I went to a llama farm for a school field trip, and I couldn’t get over just how tall these animals were. I’m 6’1, and when I stood up against one it was almost equal to my height. I’m guessing it was around 6 feet tall. They are beautiful creatures, but I wouldn’t want to make one mad given just how big they are.
