Does anybody have any specific statistics or facts about soda being bad for the environment? Not just the soda itself, but the packaging and how it’s produced?
Indeed. In 1991 Franklin Associates did a study of the most efficient ways to provide soft drinks, which contains a lot of useful information on the harm various soft drink containers and packaging do to the environment. Unfortunately, much of the information hasn’t changed, despite the study being almost 20 years old, because we are still using many of the same packagaing methods. But this is not to say some companies aren’t looking into ways to reduce packaging, such as thinner bottles. For proper charts and statistics, please examine the attached articles.
I hope this helps!
