Under San Francisco’s Climate Action Plan, the city promised to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20% of the levels recorded in 1990 in 2012. This plan offered various solutions encouraging the use of alternative transportation by expanding public transit routes and services and increasing funding for improving current services. The plan also called for the use of alternative fuel vehicles for local operations and the implementation of an Electricity Resource Plan.
