How is the salt made that we eat every day?

    There are two main ways that we get salt for our tables either from sea salt or rock salt. Sea salt is produced on open salt flats on the coast. Water is allowed in to the flats and then trapped by small damns. The water is then left to evaporate in the sea sun. All in all this is a thoroughly natural process.
