The human lungs process 6 to 10 liters of air every minute. 0.3 liters of oxygen per minute are supplied to the blood. Around the same volume of carbon dioxide goes from the blood to the alveoli and leaves the body. Oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged in the alveoli.
